Guess What? Obama Plans to Bankrupt Coal Industry!

n_america.gif

Wyoming, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Texas, Montana, Illinois, Virginia, North Dakota, Colorado, Indiana, New Mexico, Utah, Ohio, Alabama and Arizona: these coal producing states will be adversely affected by Barack Obama’s energy policy.

Imagine mines closing, factories closing, jobs lost, towns abandoned, small businesses failing, pensions lost, wages dropping and widespread economic depression in states that rely on coal mining and processing. This is what Obama’s cap and trade system will engender in states such as WV, PA, MT, VA, ND, CO, IN, NM, OH and AZ. Just listen to the audio above of Obama discussing how he will bankrupt factories and businesses that rely on power generated from coal.

Sunday morning buzz: Everyone’s sending Michelle Malkin the audio clip now up on YouTube of Obama telling the San Francisco Chronicle he’ll make it impossible for new coal plants to be built. The interview took place in January. The YouTube user is NakedEmperorNews, who uploaded Obama’s redistribution of wealth interview.

Bankrupty: The change Obama thinks the coal industry deserves…

How many more jobs will be lost? How much will we pay for electricity? Yeah Obama you are certainly for change. The kind of change the Middle class of America does not need.

Obama Happier with Higher Energy Costs

Government should send “price signals” on energy?

Just in case voters didn’t figure out Barack Obama’s economic instincts towards statism, this interview from 2007 on energy policy should open a few eyes. During the Democratic primaries, Obama had a lot more openness about his desire for top-down control of the economy, especially when it came to energy. In order to change the behavior of consumers, Obama argued, the government had to send “price signals” to deter bad decisionmaking … at least according to the Bureau of Acceptable Consumer Choices:

Q: How do you convince people to change their lifestyles, to live differently, or to turn the question on its ear, are voters ahead of the politicians on this stuff? Do they get it, and maybe the politicians don’t?

A: Well, I think, uh, I think voters do understand it. I think it is important for us to send some price signals to change behavior.

Is that the function of government — to fix prices as a punitive measure to change consumer behavior? It will be in an Obama administration. He and a few elites will decide which consumer behaviors are bad, and penalize it with price signals. That usually means taxes or tariffs that drive the cost upwards. I’d guess that Obama isn’t celebrating the fact that a gallon of gasoline will likely fall below $2 per gallon sometime this week.

Hey What’s it Gonna Be Obama? 250,200,150, NOW 120,000-Just Where it Stops, Nobody Knows?

AROUND AND AROUND HE GOES, WHERE HE STOPS, NOBODY KNOWS

Tim Reid, The Times of London

Barack Obama’s senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week’s election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.

The sudden financial crisis and the prospect of a deep and painful recession have increased the urgency inside the Obama team to bring people down to earth, after a campaign in which his soaring rhetoric and promises of “hope” and “change” are now confronted with the reality of a stricken economy.

One senior adviser told The Times that the first few weeks of the transition, immediately after the election, were critical, “so there’s not a vast mood swing from exhilaration and euphoria to despair.”

Can’t be having that..no way.

The aide said that Obama himself was the first to realize that expectations risked being inflated. Well yeah, quite a few groupies and sheep will have expectations dashed.

In an interview with a Colorado radio station, Obama appeared to be engaged already in expectation lowering. Asked about his goals for the first hundred days, he said he would need more time to tackle such big and costly issues as health care reform, global warming and Iraq.

Oh yes, Iraq has been very successful of late…so ya got that going for you. Let’s see, with Al Gore’s help, the greenies among us will successfully cause gas prices to be higher, forget offshore drilling, that is only good for the rest of the world..don’t forget China and India drilling off our shores..but then we don’t matter. Health care, how much exactly is that free health care gonna cost us? But don’t worry about it. We are all just peasants to be tamed.

“The first hundred days is going to be important, but it’s probably going to be the first thousand days that makes the difference,” he said. He has also been reminding crowds in recent days how “hard” it will be to achieve his goals, and that it will take time.

First Thousand? Wonder just how much damage can be wrought in 1000 days on top of what we already have.

“I won’t stand here and pretend that any of this will be easy — especially now,” Obama told a rally in Sarasota, Florida, yesterday, citing “the cost of this economic crisis, and the cost of the war in Iraq.” Obama’s transition team is headed by John Podesta, a Washington veteran and a former chief-of-staff to Bill Clinton. He has spent months overseeing a virtual Democratic government-in-exile to plan a smooth transition should Obama emerge victorious next week.

The plans are so far advanced that an Obama Cabinet has been largely decided upon, with the expectation that most of his senior appointments could be announced shortly after election day.

ANWR, AND THE BIG LIE

Well, this is a grear visual for us to see the size of Anwr and all the hullabaloo going on about whether or not we should be independent of foreign oil.

Thanks to Atlas Shrugs Pamela Geller for the following: ANWR, THE DEMOCRATS AND THE BIG LIE great photo comparisons

Excerpts below:

I received this from George whose brother worked in D.C. for a firm that helped companies and other entities present their views on public policy issues with printed materials, speeches and congressional testimony. “The pictures below are some of the ones he used on behalf of his client (not these exactly as these were forwarded to me from a friend who did not identify the source). His client was the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Their headline was “If you care about Mother Earth, you should support opening ANWR.” They went on to explain in detail about the methods and care taken to protect the environment while drilling for the energy that is the lifeblood of our economy –and way of life. I was surprised, too.”

Bottom line. When you hear Demoncrats saying ANWR won’t solve all of our oil problems. Let me say – no one answer will (until some genius scientist develops a synthetic oil). Until such time, we must take many proactive actions. ANWR, shale, coastal drilling etc. — altogether these solutions will relieve us of the horrible dependence we have on jihad oil.

Who the hell are the Dems working for? We elected them – they are public servants. They work for us. /not.

Teens Who Hate America

I am a little under the weather so this post stands alone without much commentary from me.. loved where the school used her alternative video to Global warming. Sick that our children today have this attitude. What can we expect when it is not popular to say the Pledge of Allegiance among other things.

by Pam Meister

It’s hard to get angry at privileged U.S. teenagers who say that they hate their country. Given the messages they are exposed to, what else are they supposed to think?

My oldest daughter, a sophomore in high school, recently complained to her father and I about some of her schoolmates’ declarations that they “hate America.”

When I asked if she could elaborate why they would say such a thing, she said she really couldn’t remember because she was so disgusted that she did everything she could to block out the conversation. She also confirmed that she didn’t say anything to them at the time.

Being a high school student, that iffy age where often the goal of most kids is to stay off of the radar for fear of being singled out and ridiculed, I don’t really blame my daughter for keeping her own counsel, even if she was upset that kids she knows — but is not necessarily friends with — would go so far as to announce that they hate America. I wish she had spoken up, but again, I can understand her decision to stay silent.

My daughter was astute enough to realize that there’s a good chance that these kids were simply building upon what they heard at home — just as she does. But we reminded her that while she is exposed to conservative and decidedly patriotic values at home, she is also being exposed to left-wing views at school and elsewhere — so at least she’s getting both sides of the story, which hopefully enable her to make up her own mind.

Kids like those she describes are probably getting a double helping of the left, both at home and in the world at large, and so their worldview is decidedly skewed. Add to that a healthy dose of the hormone-fueled superiority complex of many teens and voilà! You have created a recipe for snobbish disdain that would do a Frenchman proud.

Gore launches $300 Million Campaign

flirt.gif

Oh jeez, the economy is foundering, and now we got Gore  trying to force us all to buy snake oil!

Obama’s chickens (gyrating and waving arms about) have come home to roost

Both Democrats and Republicans often say “follow the money.” If you follow the money on MAN-MADE global warming… you will find  the extreme liberals.

If you ask the biggest proponents of MAN-MADE global warming if they have received or plan to receive personal income because of their MAN-MADE claims, 100% would say YES (followed by ‘what’s wrong with that?’).

I wonder if they ever sell ‘carbon credits’ for 1/2 off. Maybe Al Gore gives a discount if you deposit the funds directly into his Swiss bank account? Slap my face, did I say that?

10 years from now everyone will deny they fell for Al Gore’s nonsense. Until then, we have to live with these idiots spewing their insanity. They sound like a new sect of the Branch Davidians with Al Gore as Jesus and SUVs triggering armageddon.

The far lefties are the only people on earth who play the victim card and scream “CHARACTER ASSASSINATION” when we playback what they just said

In the Al Gore movie, “An Inconvenient Truth”, we see the famous hockey stick chart as proof that global warming is sweeping the Earth. Time and research has taken its toll on that chart. It is no longer regarded as accurate. In fact, it has been quietly dropped by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Now the global warming advocates point to the increase in Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere. Its up, way up; no argument about that. Our modern civilization, powered by fossil fuels, sends tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere as we generate electricity to power our lights, furnaces and air conditioners, computers, television sets, cellphone and ipods and as we drive gasoline powered cars and fly in airplanes. Our modern standard of living is absolutely linked to CO2. And it has increased in our atmosphere from around 218 parts per million in 1900 to about 375 ppm today. You need to understand immediately that CO2 is a naturally occurring trace element in our atmosphere. For one thing, we humans produce it every time we breathe. Plants and trees must have it to grow. So CO2 was already in our atmosphere before we discovered oil. CO2 is not a pollutant.

AL GORE AND THE 10 INCONVENIENT UNTRUTHS

Hattip and by Aurora of The MidnightSun

Al GoreAl Gore, the high priest of global warming is not being spoken about so enthusiastically these days. Could it be that some people have discovered he’s not all that? And while those of us not consumed with Gaia, the religion, shake our heads at the gullibility of those of the moonbat persuasion, the more cynical of the world of the Left continue to push for environmental policies which have already taken an economic toll. We’re talking about the jobs and the livelihoods of humans here, people, but somewhere along the line, the Left stopped caring or even the pretense of caring about the working class humans, or any humans at all. If Al Gore is wrong, shouldn’t it follow that maybe, just maybe there are plenty more out there who are wrong as well?

Al Gore no longer gives interviews to the Press except where the interviewer has been carefully pre-selected for his sycophancy and for his lack of elementary knowledge of climate science. Likewise, Gore no longer takes questions from the audience at any public meeting unless he is sure that no one in the audience knows anything of climatology. The interview from which the following list of Gore’s latest scientific errors and exaggerations was compiled appeared in India Today on 17 March 2008.

Error 1: “‘Global warming’ is a planetary emergency. It is a crisis and we have to find ways to come to an agreement to reduce the carbon dioxide.”

The facts: There is no “planetary emergency”. Nor is there a “crisis”. If there is an “emergency” or a “crisis”, it is certainly not caused by “global warming”. The increase in global temperatures between 1980 and 1998, when “global warming” stopped, was only half of the small increase shown in the official temperature records (McKitrick, 2006, 2007 in press). In the decade since 1998 there has been no statistically-significant increase in global temperature (HadCRUt3, 2008; US NCDC, 2008; RSS,2008; UAH MSU, 2008; etc.). In the seven years since early 2001, the trend of global temperature has been downward at a rate equivalent to more than 0.4degrees Celsius (0.75 F) per decade:

Error 2: “Today we the people of this planet would put another 70m tons of global warming-pollution into the earth’s atmosphere.”

The facts: “Global warming pollution” is Gore’s favorite phrase for “carbon dioxide.” However, CO2 is not a pollutant, but a naturally-occurring gas. Together with chlorophyll and sunlight, it is an essential ingredient in photosynthesis and is, accordingly, plant food. The reconstruction of palaeoclimatological CO2 concentrations below, taken from Berner (2001), demonstrates that carbon dioxide concentration today is almost at its lowest level since the Cambrian era 550 million years ago, when there was almost 20 times as much CO2 in the atmosphere as there is today, without any threat to animal or plant life, and without causing the “runaway greenhouse effect” that Gore likes to mention:

Meanwhile, the environmentalist madness goes on, slashing and burning businesses and getting whole countries into billions, trillions of dollars of debt. It’s as if they are deaf and blind, or just plain obtuse.

American Thinker has this to say about the media on global warming news compared with others. You will want to check this out. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/03/american_media_ignores_inconve.html

Sarcasm Angie

According to USA Today News, they now know they need to turn up the heat on getting the public support. It seems America’s average citizens are not paying a high enough price, no matter we now are  going to pay a tax to the UN. No matter we are nearly bankrupt. No matter good living wage jobs have gone overseas. No matter our expenses have gone through the roof for necessary items. No matter that our ‘free wheeling’ politicians and Hollywood Celebs like to talk it up and fly their jets and just pay a carbon tax. No matter that most of them live far above ‘average Americans’.  They still will get us to play along through our children shaming us. They will get us to be as sheep and do ‘what everybody else is doing’ to get a smiley face and play along. Yes, that’s right folks, it seems that the hotels noticed when guests were given a suggestion to reuse the towel for the environment. They did not play along..why they wanted a fresh towel. However, when they said the previous guests did help the environment by reusing their linens, why they complied..It’s like the good ole days of schoolchildren, everybody really wants to be like everyone else. They dress alike, jive alike, and so it goes. So line up for the smiley faces 🙂 they are going to be passing out to everyone who complies. Oh, and don’t forget, your children are watching you use that plastic!
