California Dreaming or Nightmare..Alternative Lifestyle Ed,Communism,Bailout, Threats, and Votes Don’t Count?

California Dreaming (wasn’t that a song) may be over. Remember that old country song..Mama don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys..The line now should read..or sing…Mama, don’t raise your babies in California.

My first trip to California was as a wide eyed 14 year old. I was going to see Hollywood, The Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. I could tell you lots of fun stories but I will just share that the people were great that I met. California was a place of dreams. Hope. Whatever happened to the great state of California?

A new plan by a California lawmaker would allow schools to be used to promote the overthrow of the U.S. government, and let teachers in public district classrooms “inculcate in the mind of any pupil a preference for communism,” according to a traditional values advocacy organization. “Just when we thought the indoctrination in California’s public schools couldn’t get any worse, state lawmakers introduce bills that will further brainwash innocent children,” said a statement from Capitol Resource Institute, a traditional values and family advocacy organization based in California. […] Her organization, along with several others, already has been battling over lawmakers’ orders, already placed in law, that public schools in the state teach nothing but positive messages about homosexuality, transsexuality, bisexuality and other alternative lifestyles. Christians in the Middle East need our help

In the daily drumbeat of Mideast news,

there is one story of historic proportion that is nearly unreported: the growing persecution and systematic destruction in the Islamic world of some of the world’s oldest Christian communities.

Sure, we hear when a Catholic bishop is murdered in Iraq, when machete-armed fanatics attack Egyptian Copt worshipers, or when churches are torched in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

But what about the jailing in Saudi Arabia of foreign workers for holding forbidden Christian prayers? Or the arrest in Pakistan of a Christian man for marrying a Muslimwoman? Or the continuing Islamic educational system that teaches the young that Christians (as well as Jews) are “the descendants of apes and pigs”?

The pattern is nearly the same wherever extremist Islam holds sway. From Bangladesh to Darfur, Christians have become regular targets for Islamic thugs and the governments that back them. Just this month, a Pakistani court upheld the kidnapping, conversion and “marriage” to older Moslem men of two Christian sisters, aged 10 and 13.

Yet even in lands that are not under orthodox Sharia law, Christian communities feel the pressure of persecution. In constitutionally secular Turkey, a legally recognized Protestant church in the capital of Ankara is under threat of closure by local Islamist police.

Many Christians in Islamic lands have become subject to such terror that they are fleeing the homelands their ancestors have known almost since the time of Jesus. Iraq’s Christian sects now feel forced to pray in secret. Others simply leave. Although they comprise less than four percent of Iraq’s population, Iraqi Christians now account for 40 per cent of its refugees.

Lebanon’s once politically powerful Christian community has already shrunken almost beyond recognition. Thirty years ago, Lebanon was 60% Christian; today it is barely 25%. The growing political power of Iran-backed Hezbollah is encouraging further departures.

Even in the Holy Land, where Jesus walked, there is an increasing Christian exodus from both the West Bank and Gaza. Part of it surely stems from the continuing Palestinian- Israeli conflict. But much of it results from a growing Islamic campaign to force Christians to sell their property and leave. Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, was once 90% Christian. Today it has a 65% Moslem majority.

The only place in the Mideast where Christian communities continue to grow is in the Jewish State of Israel. Israel’s tolerance is logical. What people of faith knows the dangers of religious persecution better than the people of Israel – especially those whose families originated in the Islamic world? Between 1948 and 1956 more than 850,000 Jews were forced to flee the Arab lands where their families had lived for centuries.

Most found new homes in Israel; others settled in Western Europe and the Americas. Today there are almost no Jews in the Arab world. In Egypt, where 180,000 Jews once lived, there are fewer than 80. In Iraq, where Jews once comprised a third of Baghdad, there are possibly ten left. In Libya, there are none.

For much of Islamic history there was relative tolerance of both Jews and Christians. Though never treated as equals to Moslems, they were accepted as Dhimmi – protected minorities.

Today there seems to be a dangerous tendency in many Muslim nations to neither respect nor try to preserve the historic sanctity of these once sheltered cultures and faiths.

When Afghan fanatics destroyed two ancient statues of Buddha, the world was shocked. But the world should not forgot that between 1948 and 1967, when Islamic forces controlled the Holy City of Jerusalem, there was a systematic campaign to erase the historic Jewish presence. Synagogues were destroyed and ancient Jewish gravestones carted away. Even today, the Palestinian Authority not only denies Israel’s right to consider itself a Jewish state, but denies the historic Jewish connection to Jerusalem. It is an empty effort to enhance the Palestinian political narrative at the expense of others’ hard earned history.

If there is a hope of true peace in the Middle East, extremist Islam must reform its view of others. It cannot go on teaching that non-Islamic history in the Middle East is “fiction.”

There is a sacred opportunity now to take up the call for the Islamic world’s hard-pressed and ever shrinking Christian communities. All people of commitment and tolerance – Christian, Jew, and Moslem – should speak out loudly and forcefully so that the Islamic world’s Christians do not suffer the same fate as its now all but non-existent Jewish communities.

FITNA–Stand for FREE SPEECH!

NC Asks: If Islam is such a great world religion then why do it’s followers insist on suing those who vehemently speak out against it? If Islam is such a great world religion then why not allow the light of criticism to shine upon it without threatening to kill the questioner? If Islam is such a great world religion then why is Ayann Hirsi Ali, Craig Winn, Geert Wilders, and many others marked for deathfor speaking out against it? Why was Theo von Gogh murdered for questioning Islam’s treatment of women? What do the leaders of Islam have to hide? Why is killing Jews and Christians the only guaranteed path to Heaven under Islamic doctrine?
Islam and Free Speech

Marked for death: Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

The Netherlands is bracing for a new round of violence at home and against its embassies in the Middle East. The storm would be caused by “Fitna,”a short film that is scheduled to be released this week. The film, which reportedly includes images of a Quran being burned, was produced by Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch parliament and leader of the Freedom Party. Mr. Wilders has called for banning the Quran — which he has compared to Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” — from the Netherlands.

After concern about the film led Mr. Wilders’s Internet service provider to take down his Web site, Mr. Wilders issued a statement this week that he will personally distribute DVDs “On the Dam” if he has to. That may not be necessary, as the Czech National Party has reportedly agreed to host the video on its Web site.

Reasonable men in free societies regard Geert Wilders’s anti-Muslim rhetoric, and films like “Fitna,” as disrespectful of the religious sensitivities of members of the Islamic faith. But free societies also hold freedom of speech to be a fundamental human right. We don’t silence, jail or kill people with whom we disagree just because their ideas are offensive or disturbing. We believe that when such ideas are openly debated, they sink of their own weight and attract few followers.

Secret IRS Deal with Scientology?

 THE POWER TO DESTROY

Info sought on secret IRS deal

 with Scientology

‘Position represents unconstitutional favoritism of one religious group over another’

Well folks, we got a few influential  Californians trying to take away some parental rights (see previous post) and impose “THE RIGHTS OF A FEW”  Over your rights. Now we have some questionable favoritism shining on a cult (jmho) to give the cult some tax breaks…..But notice there are no breaks for christians or judaism. Wow…imagine that!!

 Source:WorldNetDaily

A federal appeals court is being asked to tell the Internal Revenue Service to open up a secret deal with the Church of Scientology that reportedly allows members to deduct certain educational, or “auditing,” expenses, a benefit denied members of other faiths in the United States. The report comes from the American Bar Association Journal, which outlined the situation involving a case pending before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in California. The appellants in the case at hand, in which a decision hasn’t been released yet, Michael and Marla Sklar, are Orthodox Jews who took deductions for some of the private religious school tuition they paid for their children, the report said, as well as after-school classes in Jewish law.

The IRS disallowed the deductions multiple times, and a first case was closed, even though “the agency meanwhile reportedly has allowed members of the Church of Scientology, under a 1993 settlement agreement, to take substantial deductions for ‘religious training and services.’Continue reading

Iowa Statehouse Iman prayer asking Allah for “victory over those who disbelieve”

Yeah, Let’s invite them to pray for us again?

Are they not peaceful? Do they not respect others? Do they want the best for us? Hey people,  We are losing here when we do nothing..Let your reps have it..tell them about it,

remember that movie ‘Network News’..the statement made in the movie that I think of is this:

“I’M MAD AS  H*LL  & I’M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!

Thousands of Deadly Islamic Terror Attacks Since 9/11

We stand with Israel and their right to exist!

Imam offers prayer at Iowa Statehouse asking Allah for “victory over those who disbelieve”

And some of those in attendance were not sufficiently browbeaten by political correctness to fail to notice that that meant victory over them.

“Muslim opening prayer at Iowa Statehouse raises concerns,” by Erin Ballou for the Storm Lake Pilot Tribune (thanks to Bryan Preston):

The Iowa Legislature started just over a week ago and some people were upset before the first issue was every addressed. When the session began, a Muslim Imam began the prayer in the Iowa Legislature. This is where the controversy begins.

The prayer asked of “Victory over those who disbelieve,” and “Protection from the great Satan” among other things.

[…]

Here is the text of the opening prayer, as transcribed by Radio Iowa:

Imam Muhammad Khan of the Islamic Center of Des Moines spoke first in Arabic.

“I seek refuge in God against the accursed Satan in the name of God, most gracious, most merciful,” Khan said in English. Khan made no specific mention of the war in Iraq or foreign affairs, but he called God the “master of the day of judgment” and asked for “victory over those who disbelieve.”…

Yeah right, hey everybody, that’s us..yep, Americans and all who do not believe in Islam….Read below just how ‘peaceful they really are….Betcha a dollar to a doughnut if they checked the mosques of this guy and other Imans, you would find a lot of  ‘anti American and death to Americans..Jihad anybody? yet we invite them to pray against us? How about the Chaplain below who was dismissed for praying in the name of Jesus, the true Prince of Peace?

Is it not ironic that one can pray to Allah, but read below: you better not pray in the name of Jesus in the Navy..

A chaplain who was dismissed from the U.S. Navy when he refused to following orders to make his prayers “nonsectarian” and remove the name of Jesus from them now has been commissioned by the governor of Kentucky as an honorary “Kentucky Colonel.”

Just one week after his dismissal from the Navy was completed, Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt also prayed “in Jesus’ name” on the floor of the Kentucky Legislature, where the state house then passed a unanimous resolution to honor Navy chaplains who pray in Jesus’ name.

He prayed:

Our Father in heaven, I come to you through my Lord Jesus Christ, and I ask that you be our only God today.Test the reins of our hearts, to see if there is any sin, any idol, or anything we’ll not give up for you.

Remove from us every false thing we delight in, and everything we rely upon, so we may delight in and rely upon you alone as our only God.

Show us all our hidden faults, so we can immediately forsake them. Fill us with your spirit of holiness instead.

Show us the way of the Cross, and the path of suffering, that we may embrace selfless sacrifice, instead of selfish pleasure. Remove from us any lust for power or position, and help us pass Your agenda instead.

Have mercy, and reveal yourself to us, so we’ll love God and neighbor with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

Father in heaven, come rule our hearts fully with your love. Now and every day, be our only God.

We pray to you, Almighty God, and I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Then Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher awarded Chaplain Klingenschmitt an honorary commission as “Kentucky Colonel” for courage in the face of adversity, the highest honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. adsonar_placementId=1270202;adsonar_pid=663759;adsonar_ps=1451068;adsonar_zw=300;adsonar_zh=250;adsonar_jv=”ads.adsonar.com”;

Klingenschmitt told WND that he plans now to embark on a 50-state tour, to pray “in Jesus’ name” at each state Legislature, and is seeking church and legislative sponsors for his work.

The Kentucky resolution specifically honored “Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt for service to God, country, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”

Lawmakers there noted that “Navy regulations adopted on November 28, 1775, reflect the Navy’s deep concern for the souls of sailors to know Jesus through the preaching of the Gospel state, ‘The commanders of the ships of the thirteen United Colonies are to take care that divine service be performed twice a day on board and a sermon preached on Sundays, unless bad weather or other extraordinary accidents prevent'”

They also marked the words of President Woodrow Wilson, whose letter to sailors during World War I express the same concern. “The Bible is the word of life. I beg that you will read it and find this out for yourselves – read not little snatches here and there, but long passages that will really be the road to the heart of it”

WHEREAS, Navy chaplains are permitted by federal law to pray in Jesus’ name according to 10 U.S.C. sec. 6031, which states, ‘An officer in the Chaplain Corps may conduct public worship according to the manner and forms of the church of which he is a member'”

“WHEREAS, more Christians have been martyred in the last 100 years than have been martyred in all the previous 1,900 years combined”

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: The House of Representatives does hereby applaud the United States Navy Chaplain Corps and Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt for service to God, country, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”

GOOD FOR YOU KENTUCKY!

Klingenshcmitt earlier told WND he would continue his lawsuit against the Navy, fighting to be reinstated. Klingenschmitt said the battle was worth it, and he would do it all over again. “We did change national policy. We rescinded the policy that I was punished for,” he said.

His dismissal came after a Washington appeals court dissolved a stay preventing that action. That stay had been obtained by a law firm representing him in his civil rights action against the Navy. He earlier had been scheduled to be removed from the Navy in January, but a lawsuit filed by the Rutherford Institute alleges he was within his rights to pray as he did.

“The Constitution is clear about the fact that the government is prohibited from establishing a religion,” said John W. Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute. “Furthermore, the First Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees that all citizens have a fundamental right to freely exercise their religious beliefs, and that includes military service people.”

The civil rights complaint stems from a 1998 memo issued by the Navy Chief of Chaplains that discouraged them from invoking the name of Jesus in their prayers. “This instruction was later embodied in an instruction from the secretary of the Navy, which provided that religious elements for a command function, absent extraordinary circumstances, should be non-sectarian in nature,” the lawsuit said.

Chaplain Klingenschmitt resisted these directives on the basis of a federal statute providing that chaplains may conduct public worship according to the manner and forms of the church of which he is a member,” the firm said.

However, Klingenschmitt says that because he objected to the ban on the name of Jesus, the Department of the Navy gave him adverse fitness reports, reprimands and then brought him up on a court martial – in violation of his constitutional rights.

Really discriminating is it not? do as we say or we’ll make you pay one way or another..sounds like the ‘old Kremlin to me’.

And that, the Rutherford Institute charges, is an attempt by the Navy to assemble a “civic religion.”

There’s a unitarian system of religion that’s aimed at Christians,” Whitehead told WND. “It boils down to that. We’re seeing it all across the country, with council prayers, kids wanting to mention Jesus. What’s going on here is it’s generally a move in our government and military to set up a civic religion.”

The Navy convicted him of failing to follow a lawful order because his superior didn’t want him praying “in Jesus’ name” and court-martialed him for that. But when Congress got word of his $3,000 fine for his prayer, members ordered the Navy to remove the limitation and allow chaplains to pray as their “conscience dictates.”
