BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Obama Staffer (Former Clinton Staffer) Spills the Beans

Dr. Lynette Long — a frequent contributor to this blog, a recent and influential member of Democratic national committees, a prominent supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, and now a McCain/Pain supporter — just forwarded this to me from her “contact,” and asked that this be posted immediately. It is an astonishing read. Feel free to grab this for your own blogs, and send it on to friends by e-mail.

After a long and careful consideration of all the implications and possible consequences of my actions today, I have decided to go through with this in the hope that our country can indeed be guided into the right direction.

First, a little personal background… I am a female grad student in my 20’s, and a registered Democrat. During the primaries, I was a campaign worker for the Clinton candidacy. I believed in her and still do, staying all the way to the bitter end. And believe me, it was bitter. The snippets you’ve heard from various media outlets only grazed the surface. There was no love between the Clinton and Obama campaigns, and these feelings extended all the way to the top. Hillary was no dope though, and knew that any endorsement of Obama must appear to be a full-fledged one. She did this out of political survival.

As a part of his overall effort to extend an olive branch to the Clinton camp and her supporters, Obama took on a few Hillary staff members into his campaign. I was one such worker. Though I was still bitterly loyal to Hillary, I still held out hope that he would choose her as VP. In fact, there was a consensus among us transplants that in the end, he HAD to choose her. It was the only logical choice. I also was committed to the Democratic cause and without much of a second thought, transferred my allegiance to Senator Obama.

I’m going to let you in on a few secrets here, and this is not because I enjoy the gossip or the attention directed my way. I’m doing this because I doubt much of you know the true weaknesses of Obama.

Another reason for my doing this is that I have lost faith in this campaign, and feel that this choice has been forced on many people in this country.

Put simply, you are being manipulated. That was and is our job – to manipulate you (the electorate) and the media (we already had them months ago). Our goal is to create chaos with the other side, not hope.

I’ve come to the realization (as the campaign already has) that if this comes to the issues, Barack Obama doesn’t have a chance. His only chance is to foster disorganization, chaos, despair, and a sense of inevitability among the Republicans.

It has worked up until now. Joe the Plumber has put the focus on the issues again, and this scares us more than anything. Being in a position to know these things, I will rate what the Obama campaign already knows are their weak links from the most important on down.

1 – Hillary voters. Internal polling suggests that at best, we are taking 70-75% of these voters. Other estimates are as low as 60% in some areas – particularly Ohio and western PA.

My biggest problem with this campaign’s strategy was the decision NOT to offer Hillary the VP slot. She was ready and able to take this on, and would have campaigned enthusiastically for it.

This selection would have also brought virtually all of her supporters into the fold, and the Obama campaign knew it. Though I have no way of knowing this for certain, and I do admit that I am relying on internal gossip, Senator Obama actually went against the advice of his top advisors. They wanted him to choose her, but the only significant opposition to this within the campaign came from Barack and Michelle Obama. In short, he let personal feelings take precedence over what was the most logical thing to do.

Biden, by the way, has been a disaster inside the campaign. Everyone cringes whenever he gives an interview, and he creates so many headaches as the campaign has to stay on their toes in order to disseminate information and spin whatever it was he was trying to say.

2 – Sarah Palin. Don’t believe what the media is telling you about how horrible a choice she was. Again, our internal polling suggests that though she has had a minimal impact on pulling disaffected Hillary Democrats to McCain, she has done wonders in mobilizing the base for McCain.

Another thing – we were completely taken by surprise with her pick. In my capacity in the research department, I looked into the backgrounds of Leiberman, Romney, Pawlenty and Ridge, and prepared briefs. I don’t mind bragging that we had pretty good stuff on all of them. With Leiberman, the plan was to paint him as an erratic old-timer who didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing (pretty much a clone of McCain). In Romney, we had him pegged as an evil capitalist who cut jobs. Pawlenty was going to get the “Quayle treatment”, or more precisely: a pretty face, with no valid experience. Tom Ridge was going to be used to provide a direct link from McCain to Bush. As you can see, we were quite enamored of all of them.

Then the unexpected happened – Sarah Palin. We had no clue as to how to handle her, and bungled it from the start. Though through our misinformation networks, we have successfully taken some of the shine off. But let there be no doubt. She remains a major obstacle. She has singlehanded solidified “soft” Republican support, mobilized the McCain ground game, and has even had some appeal to independents and Hillary voters. This is what our internal polling confirms.

3 – Obama’s radical connections. Standards operating procedure has been to cry “racism” whenever one of these has been brought up. We even have a detailed strategy ready to go should McCain ever bring Rev. Wright up.

Though by themselves they are of minimal worth, taken together, Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Father Pfelger, and now, Rashid Khalili, are exactly what the campaign does not need. The more focus on them, the more this election becomes a referendum on Obama.

The campaign strategy from the very beginning was to make this election a referendum on Bush.

Strategists have been banging their heads on how successfully McCain has distanced himself from Bush. This has worked, and right now the tide is in his favor. People are taking a new look at Barack Obama, and our experience when this happens tells us this is not good news at all. When they take a look at him, one or more of these names are bound to be brought up.

McCain has wisely not harped on this in recent weeks and let voters decide for themselves. This was a trap we set for him, and he never fully took the bait. Senator Obama openly dared him to bring up Ayers.

This was not due to machismo on the part of Obama, but actually due to campaign strategy. Though McCain’s reference to Ayers fell flat in the last debate, people in the Obama campaign were actually disappointed that he didn’t follow through on it more and getting into it.

Our focus groups found this out: When McCain brings these connections up, voters are turned off to him. They’d rather take this into consideration themselves, and when this happens, our numbers begin to tank.

4 – The Bradley Effect. Don’t believe these polls for a second. I just went over our numbers and found that we have next to no chance in the following states: Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire and Nevada. Ohio leans heavily to McCain, but is too close to call it for him. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa are the true “toss up states”.

The only two of these the campaign feels “confident” in are Iowa and New Mexico.

The reason for such polling discrepancy is the Bradley Effect, and this is a subject of much discussion in the campaign. In general, we tend to take a -10 point percentage in allowing for this, and are not comfortable until the polls give us a spread well over this mark.

This is why we are still campaigning in Virginia and Pennsylvania! This is why Ohio is such a desperate hope for us! What truly bothers this campaign is the fact that some pollsters get up to an 80% “refuse to respond” result. You can’t possibly include these into the polls. The truth is, people are afraid to let people know who they are voting for. The vast majority of these respondents are McCain supporters. Obama is the “hip” choice, and we all know it.

As part of my research duties, I scour right wing blogs and websites to get somewhat of a “feel” as to what is being talked about on the other side. Much of it is nonsense, but there are some exceptions which give the campaign jitters.

A spirited campaign has been made to infiltrate many pro-Hillary sites and discredit them. A more disorganized, but genuine effort has also been made to sow doubts among the unapologetically right wing sites such as redstate.com.

Don’t you guys get it? This has been the Obama campaign’s sole strategy from the very beginning! The only way he wins is over a dispirited, disorganized, and demobilized opposition. This is how it has been for all of his campaigns. What surprises me is that everyone has fallen for it. You may point to the polls as proof of the inevitability of all of this.

If so, you have fallen for the oldest trick in the book.

How did we skew these polls, you might ask? It all starts with the media “buzz” which has been generated over the campaign. Many stories are generated on the powerful Obama ground game, and how many new voters were registered.

None of this happens by coincidence. It is all part of the poll-skewing process. This makes pollsters change their mixes to reflect these new voters and tilt the mix more towards Democratic voters. What is not mentioned or reported on is not the “under-reported cell phone users or young voters” we hear so much about. What is underreported is you.

I changed my somewhat positive opinion of this campaign during the unfair and sexist campaign against Sarah Palin. I will never agree with her on the issues and will probably never vote for her, but I am embarrassed of what has happened. I can’t ignore our own hand in all of this.

What I do know is that I will not be voting for Obama this time around. Treat that as you will.

Obama and Infanticide..Extreme Pro Abortion

These are good posts I’ve read on Obama’s radical pro-abortion stance and what an Obama presidency will mean. It is also a riposte to those Christians who say they’ll be voting for Obama. The author, Robert P. George. is Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University.

Robert George: Obama and Infanticide
co-authors: Yuval Levin,

Obama’s latest excuse ‘cough’ lie for opposing the Illinois Born-Alive Infants Protection Act is that the law was ”unnecessary” because babies surviving abortions were already protected. It won’t fly.

Robert George: Obama’s Abortion Extremism

Sen. Barack Obama’s views on life issues ranging from abortion to embryonic stem cell research mark him as not merely a pro-choice politician, but rather as the most extreme pro-abortion candidate to have ever run on a major party ticket.
Below is an interview of Governor Palin with Dr. James Dobson.

Palin: Nov. 4 results in God’s hands

‘Seek His wisdom and guidance in putting this nation back on the right track’

While I agree with her, I feel that if we continue to go on the paths we obviously have chosen, that God will move his protection furrher away, because this is what we have chosen..to be further away…we have pushed and pushed Him away. We do have a free will. It is up to us to choose God’s Blessings and what kind of country we want in the future.

Obama’s Fairness Doctrine, Gas Cartel, Palin, Race Baiting, and Secret Service finds NO ONE Yelled “kill him”

While pundits talk endlessly and badly about the debate (that CNN panel is ridiculous – isn’t anyone embarrassed to be there? They should be), I thought I’d look around and see what else is out there.

1)The NYPost talks about Joe the Plumber today. It calls Obama’s “economic plan” a wealth redistribution scheme.

Obama’s plan isn’t about sinking hooks into Wall Street CEOs and other fat cats, as he usually says. Fact is, there’s not enough of them to raise the cash necessary to finance his other grand plans.

No, to do that, he’ll have to go after ambitious working-class guys like Wurzelbacher – who’s been a plumber for 15 years and is looking to better himself and his family while just maybe creating a few jobs.
————–
Heretofore, Obama has sought to paint himself as a tax-cutter – claiming he’ll slash taxes for 95 percent of Americans.

As we noted yesterday, that’s a flat-out lie – not least because nearly half of all tax filers pay no income tax at all. So how can he “cut” their taxes if they don’t pay any to begin with?

Answer: tax “credits.”
To wit, in part:
* A $1,000 “make work pay” credit.
* A $4,000 college-tuition credit.
* A $6,000 child-care credit.
* A $1,100 bump in the earned-income tax credit.

These aren’t to be income-tax deductions – which would be worthless to those who pay no income taxes.

These are to be checks from Washington – with the subsidies expected to grow to more than $1 trillion in 10 years.

That’s a massive transfer of wealth.

How does Obama justify it?

“Fairness,” he says.

But that’s an absurdly radical view of what’s “fair.”

Interesting comment found:

BTW everyone how is BOs 4000 dollar credit for college any different than the one already in place. I took it last year. It is called the college tuition credit of all things. I do not understand how this is a new deduction.

Another: It is new because now you have to volunteer for service to get it.

Wow, how slick and manupulative..Obama, your pants stay on fire…problem is, most people don’t know it yet. Guess Obama will take a lot of credit for ed-u-ca-tion! Right!

Taking a few days off friends, 3 new posts today. Lots more in the works..be back soon. Meanwhile enjoy this video. Too cool! Don’t miss tomorrows scheduled post on Obama past as a Socialist.

Can And Will PBS Ifill Be Impartial During Biden-Palin Debate

The controversial PBS anchor Gwen Ifill will be the Moderator tonight at the VP debate. who is very much Mesmerized by Obama. She is the author of a new book featuring the great one that will be released on Inauguration day. Let’s look at some of the controversy swirling around her as the choice for Moderator.

During the Democratic National Convention, Ifill offered her neutral analysis before Michelle Obama’s speech on NBC News “A lot of people have never seen anything that looks like a Michelle Obama before. She’s educated, she’s beautiful, she’s tall, she tells you what she thinks and they hope that she can tell a story about Barack Obama and about herself…”

During the Republican National Convention, the PBS ombudsman fielded numerous complaints about Ifill’s coverage of Sarah Palin’s speech. Wrote Brian Meyers of Granby, Ct.:

“I was appalled by Gwen Ifill’s commentary directly following Gov. Sarah Palin’s speech. Her attitude was dismissive and the look on her face was one of disgust. Clearly, she was agitated by what most critics view as a well-delivered speech. It is quite obvious that Ms. Ifill supports Obama as she struggled to say anything redemptive about Gov. Palin’s performance. I am disappointed in Ms. Ifill’s complete disregard for journalistic objectivity.”

Update on ‘Grassroots Smear’ Campaign

The Original Astroturfing: Change we can Fake

Thanks to Brian.

UPDATE ON GRASSROOTS SMEAR CAMPAIGN:

I wanted to follow this story and where do you go to follow something that could be sizzling with slander lies and corruption other than to the one that did the tough work of true journalism, investigating. So I offer you Dr. Rusty Shackleford from JawaReport. Thank you so much for digging for the truth!

Of course, the naysayers are out..Obama’s campaign denies it..Michelle Malkin was on FoxNews this morning and of course, all the reporters do today is call a campaign and ask if they had anything to do with it..no real investigation. Too much work, I suppose. Then we have as you will see, when you follow the links below..there are now 2 video’s. HARDEEHARR! Thank you Rusty for keeping the original that was emailed and blogged all over the web. Now of course, Fox had the one that said ‘member’ but go on, read the rest of the story. If you need to catch up from the beginning..The links are here.

Circle the Wagons!

Too bad that lunatic Olberman is muzzled. I’d love to hear some ranting from him. In the meantime, this is pretty funny: JayTea at Wizbang fisks a Media Matters report called “The Jawa Report Shoots and Misses” (“Just another day at the office for the can’t-shoot-straight gang on the far side of the blogosphere.”). bwahahaha. JayTea makes oh, a few good points, take a look.

A few more good points can be found at The Examiner. Its a complete analysis, and this is from the conclusion:

If like me, you suspect that this video was an Axelrod production, it leaves you with two reasonable theories. First, the ad was possibly produced by Axelrod before The New York Times retracted the claim carried in the video. Then Axelrod shelved it. At that point, Winner probably had the ad from Axelrod and was either told to sit on it and he disobeyed or told to release it as a viral video.Take note of the Obama spokespeson’s denial. He said we had nothing to do with this “YouTube video”. Let’s parse that statement. By characterzing the video as a “YouTube video” he can disassociate the general act of making the video from the act of uploading it to YouTube. In fact, this does not expliciately deny that Axelrod’s company or another contractor produced the video for the Obama campaign. Too fine a point? Does what the meaning of “is” is ring any bells? (emphasis added-j)

Or, perhaps, as Ethan Winner claims, he was completely responsible from top to bottom for the ad. Of course, a sleazy ad like this would harm any professional PR firm’s reputation. What would his motivation be to damage his own reputation?

That’s a good question, especially when there is no disputing the claim that the lovely Sarah was not a member of AIP. Ethan admitted he knew the smear was already de-bunked in the comments at the Youtube vid he posted spreading the smear. And we could see that if he didn’t yank the vid and close his account within minutes of Jawa’s post.

Since we just got a mention on Fox News, I guess I’ll come out of my hole and direct new readers to the report we did on how employees of a mega-PR firm are behind the smear and how there may be a connection to the Obama campaign.

Let’s keep the heat on the Media. It is time for them to step up.

Time for me to perhaps get on with the State of the Union..ain’t looking too good folks, but then I am an optimist..truly. I believe in the American people to get through it and come out fine. It just ticks me off that I did not buy a house I could not afford..On second thought, I should have bought a cool Yacht! Want to buy some swampland in Florida?

Possible Obama Campaign Link to You Tube ‘Grassroots Smear’?

The information on the post yesterday on ‘Grass Roots Smear’ is growing more intriguing all the time. Rusty Shackeleford of Jawa Report has some interesting background on this scheme. I am linking to this story without much of my own take,,,I believe this says it all. I do suggest you go over to Jawa Report and read all the updates, Truly some good investigation work here. Don’t think I would want to get on Dr. Rusty Shackleford bad side. Check out the video’s he thankfully saved before they suddenly left the building.

Updated Excerpt from JawaReport

So, the million dollar question is who, if any one, paid Winner & Associates to produce this ad?

[NOTE: The JawaReport legal department has pleaded with me to point out that everything from this point forward is pure conjecture on my part.

That said…]

THE OBAMA CONNECTION

My initial money was on George Soroswho has contributed to Winner run campaigns in the past, . The sheer viciousness of the attack bears all of the hallmarks of Moveon.org.

But it could be any number of 527sthat Obama has now given the wink-wink-nudge-nudge to start hammering away at McCain.

Or the money could come from an untraceable source like the “charitable organization” run by Justyn Winner.

So why would any one hire a PR firm like W&R? Did I mention that they specialize in “crisis communications?”Again, from the Publicis website:

crisis_communications.gif
Which leaves open the possibility that Obama or the Democratic Party might also be the ones paying for the campaign. Is there anything that might be suggestive of that? Yes there is.

First there is Ethan Winner’s Facebook account. Among the 27 friends Ethan has on Facebook, one of them is David Washington. Dr. David Washington is described as a senior Obama campaign adviser in California.

[Update: Facebook account vanishes, but here’s the cache.]

In and of itself, that’s not much of a link. Washington is involved in hosting fundraisers for Obama in the L.A. area, and as we’ve already noted the Winner family has contributed to Obama’s campaign. Perhaps that explains the connection. But there are more compelling links between the video which we believe was uploaded by Ethan Winner and the Barack Obama campaign.

PROFESSIONAL WORK FOR OBAMA CAMPAIGN?

We began this post by noting that a video uploaded to YouTubeappeared to have been produced with a voice over done by a professional. As this Politico article makes clear, voice over artists are often used over and over by the same campaign. That shouldn’t be shocking to any one. That when called upon to make an advertisement a producer will use people that they’ve worked with before.

What is surprising is that voice artists are often partisans. Not only do they work for the same producers over and over, they often only work for one side of the political aisle. For instance, Betsy Ames is one of the premier voices for Republican campaigns. Kathryn Klvana is often heard on political ads — but only Democratic ones.

We believe that the artist in the “eswinner” Palin smear video has also worked directly for the Barack Obama campaign. What we think is her voice can be heard in Obama’s “Burden” video, released on Sept. 15th — less than a week after the “eswinner” Sarah Palin, a Heartbeat Away video.

Audio from each advertisement was ripped by Dan Riehl and spliced so that a better compare and contrast between the two voices could be made. I then equalized volume levels on the two ads, producing this video. Sorry about its poor quality, I don’t have the resources of a PR firm!

Are the two voices the same? You be the judge.

We think it is.

We also believe that she worked on this Obama ad, released on Sept. 20th, and this one, from August. She may be on others, but with over 1300 videos on Obama’s YouTube channel we just didn’t look for any more.

LINKS TO THE “KING OF ASTROTURFING” — DAVID AXELROD

We believe the voice can also be heard on these AKP&D Message and Media produced videos. In fact, all of the female voice overs showcased on the AKP&D website seem to belong to the same woman. That’s right, all of them. The same voice heard in some Barack Obama ads, and which was used for the “eswinner” slime campaign.

More importantly, though, what is AKP&D? It’s the Chicago based political consulting firm headed by David Axelrod. Yes, thatDavid Axelrod. As in theDavid Axelrod who is Barack Obama’s chief media strategist.

david_axelrod.jpg
David Axelrod is also known as The master of “Astroturfing“, which is what PR industry insiders call the practice of “manufacturing grassroots support.” As Ace notes:

It tries to disguise itself as a “grassroots” phenomenon — but it’s artificial and inorganic. Hence, “Astroturf.”And David Axelrod is notorious for making extensive use of this controversial tactic — and was notorious for it even before he begain running Barack Obama’s campaign.

According to Businessweek, one of Axelrod’s astroturfingcampaigns stealthily spent $15 million convincing Illinois taxpayers that their power would be shut off if they didn’t approve an increase in their electric bills. It wasn’t until a complaint was filed with the state’s regulators that it was revealed that Axelrod’s “grassroots” campaign was fully funded by ComEd — the power company which would benefit from the rate hike.

Axelrod is a “community organizer” you might say.

This does not mean that we believe that Barack Obama’s campaign is behind the stealth Palin smear campaign. In fact, a preliminary analysis of Obama’scampaign expenditures filed with the FEC did not find any payouts to Winner & Associates or Publicis. But our familiarity with how to search FEC expenditures is limited, and there are tens of thousands of recorded transactions.

What we do believe we have found is that David Axelrod’sfirm has worked with the voice over artist in the “eswinner” Palin smear video. In fact, each and every political ad showcased on Axelrod’s website that has a female voice over seems to be the same voice from the Palin smear ad. That Axelrod used her over and over again in his videos going back several years.

We also believe that Axelrod has used her in several official Obama campaign videos.

We also know that David Axelrod is considered the master of orchestrating grassroots campaigns that appear spontaneous and which are difficult to trace to him.

In fact, Axelrod has a second company called ASK Public Strategieswho’s sole purpose seems to be running professional astroturfing campaigns. We can’t help but wonder if they ever outsource any of their work?

We also can’t help but ask if the Obama campaign has ever hired Publicis or Winner & Associates to do any work for them? Or the extent to which those advertising firms hired by Axelrod on behalf of the Obama campaign subcontract out to other large corporate PR firms?

A BROADER ASTROTURFING CAMPAIGN?

We believe that the case has been made that the Palin smear video was produced by the Publicis Groupe’s Winner & Associates. We believe the evidence to this effect is compelling.

We also believe that the evidence shows that W&A tried to spread the lies about Palin in such a way as to catch the attention of the left-wing netroot supporters of Barack Obama. We think it is unlikely that one of the largest PR firms in the world would do this for free. That they would pay for video production out of their own pockets, hire a well known voice actress, or that its employees would work together in their free time to help the video go viral.

So, if we’re right, who paid them? As of this writing we cannot answer that question. Our initial reaction was that this campaign had all the hallmarks of the Soros funded Moveon.org, but given David Axelrod’s known predilection to these type of stealth campaigns it would not surprise us in the least if the Obama campaign itself was orchestrating it.

That this is what Obama meant by “taking the gloves off”. Especially given the timing of the video’s release —during the brief period when Obama trailed McCain in the polls, and when most of McCain’s sudden surge was attributed to the popularity of Sarah Palin.

And if the company has been hired to stealthily spread these Palin smears, what other smears might they be paid to spread? Ones in which they more successfully covered their tracks?

The Palinsmear video analyzed here fits in nicely with the post-Palin pick narrative being offered by the Obama campaign. That narrative is that John McCain may not fill out his term in office. The narrative is bolstered by questions about McCain’s age, the present status of the skin cancer he once had, and by demands that his medical records be released.

The second ingredient in the narrative paints Sarah Palin — who would take McCain’s vacated Presidential office — as not ready for the job.Obama’s campaign has called her experience & intelligence into question, but there is also a “grassroots” viral campaign of deception that claims Palin is on the political fringe and is a religious lunatic.

Just in the past week, since we first began following the astroturfing of Sarah Palin, rumors have circulated that Palin was a member of the John Birch Society and that she hates rape victims. Bored with the spreading the lie that Palin thinks the Earth is 6,000 years old and that she banned books, this week the netroots are claiming that she supports witch hunts. Not metaphorical witch hunts, actual witch hunts.

Sometimes rumors and lies get spread organically with no need from direction. But sometimes what may seem to be an organic bottom up grassroots movement, may actually be led from the top and may be professionally organized.

We believe at least one such campaign to discredit Sarah Palin is currently underway. It seems highly likely that others are as well. We’ve done the initial work, but now it’s time for the professionals to take over and ask the tough questions.

UPDATE: Within an hour of this post going up, YouTube videos implicating Ethan Winner were yanked, sockpuppet accounts deleted, and more importantly, the Wikipedia entry on David Axelrod began to edit out mentions of his well know astroturfing campaigns. Hmmm, it sounds to me like we’re on to something.

We have backups of all the deleted websites, and have now included them in the post.

Thanks to all who have linked this post. Due to high interest in the story, we are unable to check all posts relate to it at this time. If you have something important you think should go in updates to this post — something we’ve overlooked — please e-mail Rusty.

Update: Weekly Standard calls Jared Liu-Klein who didn’t deny he was “stckyfngz” …. and then proceeded to hang up.

Nailed! Ethan Winner confesses he was behind video!

So gang, we better get busy contacting the Media to investigate this..probably won’t but we must try. Greta on Fox might be a good bet. No pain, no gain..let’s try them all. Contact and complain..The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or so I have been told. Dr. Rusty Shackleford has done the tough work of investigation. Can we do no less?
