Obama ‘Dreams of my Father’ Really?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
I found this to be very revealing.

Anyone questioning why Obama attended Wright’s church needs to read Obama’s 1995 book, Dreams from my Father.

It is a sickeningly racist book “in his own words”. His deep hatred toward whites is discussed in every chapter, and sometimes on every page in every chapter!

Sadly his white grandparent’s that raised him, are the one’s he discriminates against the most–The first two chapters in this book are heartbreaking and show a very cruel, self-important, self-centered, Obama, takes great lengths to tear apart every shred of dignity and character of his grandparents, even belittling his grandfather’s service in the war under Patton by saying “he sloshed around the mud in France” but never saw TRUE COMBAT!!! (Page 15 DREAMS); Obama belittles his grandmother working in a bomber assembly line calling her “Rosie the Riveter” (Page 15 Dreams)–

Then tonight his his pathetic speech about Rev. Wright mentions his grandfathers service and grandmothers work on the assembly line as if this made them great Americans. On page 14 he reveals his grandfather had a troubled past, mother committed suicide & the grandfather found her body when he was 8, and that he was possibly the reason (or his philandering father?- for her suicide…-that was the “undoubtable cause of the mother’s unfortunate demise”! (Page 14 DREAMS).

He ridicules his grandparents for the “world they were raised in…”That was the world in which my grandparents had been raised, the dab-smack, landlocked center of the country, a place where decency & endurance & the pioneer spirit were joined at the hip with conformity and suspicion & the potential for unblinking cruelty” where white trash “farm boys” who got sewn into their woolen underwear at the beginning of winter and STANK LIKE PIGS as the months wore on.” Page 13 DREAMS.

He goes on to describe what his grandparents must have looked like when they met, his grandfather looked like a “wop” and grandmother he desribes as a “dyed blond, smart talking girl w/too much red lipstick, cigarette smoker, etc. (Page 15 DREAMS. His grandfather wanting to escape the “empty, dust-ridden plains, where big plans means a job as a bank manager & entertainment means ice cream soda…”. Obama describes his grandparents BY LOOKING AT A PHOTOGRAPH OF THEM ON A BOOKSHELF THAT SPOKE “ELOQUENTLY OF THEIR ROOTS” (Page 12 DREAMS) . “Theirs were the faces of American Gothic, the WASP bloodline’s poorer cousins”

On Page 17 he describes his grandfather as “considering himself something of a freethinker–bohemian even”; because he “counted a number of Jews he’d met in the furniture business as his closest friends.” On the same page, Obama describes them as “vaguely liberal, although their ideas would never congeal into anything like a firm ideaolgy (because they were) in this too AMERICAN”! “An American character, one typical of men of his generation…whose enthusiasms could as easily lead to the cowardice of McCathyism as to heroics of World War II…men prone to, in the end, disappointment”! (Page 16).

On page 18, Obama says “The truth is that, like most white Americans at the time, they had never really given black people much thought” Apparently Obama can not only read the minds and thoughts of his grandparents, but knew the minds and thoughts of all of white America of their generation (before Obama was even born!).

On Page 21, Obama likens his grandfather’s recollections of events as “another act of white revisionism”, but couldn’t completely dismiss them altogether because “I know how strongly gramps believed in his fiction; how badly he wanted them to be true.

Obama later states on Page 21 that “for many white people of my grandparents’ generation and background,” their instincts were in “the direction of the mob.”.

On Page 23 Obama says that “part of the story his grandfather told himself (Obama once again spends page after page on supposition as if he knows what other people are thinking etc.) was “with his black son in law & brown grandson, Gramps had entered the space age”. Obama likens his grandfathers “breezy chatty style” as a calculated effort to help him with customers. (Page 24)

The saddest and cruelest part he leaves for his grandmother. In his speech tonight he says his grandmother once told him she was afraid of black men she passed on the street. In his book DREAMS, Page 88 he refers to this ONLY IT IS MUCH DIFFERENT THAN HOW HE DESCRIBED TONIGHT IN HIS SPEECH! He overhears his grandparents and walks in and asks his grandmother what is wrong. She says “a man asked me for money yesterday. While I was waiting for the bus.” Obama says “that’s all”. She says “her lips pursed with irritation. He was very aggressive, Barry. Very Aggressive. I gave him a dollar and he kept asking. If the bus hadn’t come, I think he might have hit me over the head” Next Obama walks into the other room where Gramps is at & tells him “it’s probably a little scary for her, seeing some big man block her way….” Apparently Obama left out some of the conversation w/his grandmother because he did not mention his grandmother said the man was “big” or that he “blocked” her way!!! ONE THING IS VERY CLEAR IN OBAMA’S BOOK DREAMS—HIS GRANDMOTHER NEVER SAID THE MAN WAS BLACK OR THAT THIS WAS THE REASON SHE WAS AFRAID!!! Obama says on Page 88 he learned the harrasser was black from his Grandfather–NOT GRANDMOTHER!!!

Now in my opinion there is a big difference between Obama saying tonight his grandmother told him she was afraid of “BLACK MEN SHE PASSED ON THE STREET” and the incident of one black man who was big and BLOCKED HER WAY SO SHE COULD NOT “PASS”. Apparently Obama thinks Americans are so stupid they won’t read his book or notice the “details” are a little different. On Page 89 he says men who “might easily have been my brothers could inspire their (his grandparents) rawest fears. Again, Obama writes as if his supposition of what people feel is fact!

His description of the sermon “Audacity of Hope”–the 1st sermon he heard of Rev. Wright’s is in itself a racist hatefilled sermon basically saying Hope for blacks is Audacious to a black back, because White’s control the Hope & fate and evils of the world, hunger, apartheid and all–”where white folks’ greed runs a world in need….” that’s the World! On which hope sits!” (Page 293–Dreams)

His first meeting w/Rev. Wright prior to hearing his sermon, he learned from Wright himself that he was a confessed “former” Muslim, black nationalist, studied the teachings of very controversial literature and incorporated all of “this” into Trinity (Page 282)

DREAMS OF MY FATHER–OBAMA WRITTEN IN 1995

Most of us thought there had been great strides in stomping out racism, It would seem that now most whites are wondering..Is this the way they preach about our race today?Do they hate us and still blame us today for slavery and all the injustices their ancestors endured?

Many Blacks are probably thinking: I hope they (the white folks don’t think this is our religion?) don’t think I accept this type of  hate messages that the Rev. Wright has preached.

Yes, the man of change has been bringing change, change in the worse way..Whites, Asians, Indians,  dare not say anything that may be misinterpreted. You get fired and quickly denounced. Yes, that is what other races would be thinking.

Sadly,Obama’s pastor, spiritual advisor, ‘like a family member’, ‘Uncle’, Wright has done more damage to the harmony of the races than most.

Can there be any trust now? Have we been blind? Have we all been blind? Were we so foolish as to think we could stomp out racism? Has the last 40 years been a farce?

Obama had a chance, he had a real chance, why everybody was all over him, fainting, wanting to touch him…He had a chance to just say no.. No to Jeremiah Wright. No to membership (20 years). He had a chance to denounce him, Was it not Obama who called for Imus’ the radio TV personality to be fired for making a racist comment? Was it not Obama in the front lines to hang out Geraldine F. to dry for her opinion? What is the difference Obama? Maybe you did not say it.. Maybe you don’t agree with his statements. If you don’t agree with his position. Good, but I think and many other voters think you are seriously lacking in judgment. Can we afford a President so lacking in Judgment in these crucial times?

I am not proud of your speech, Obama. I am not proud of the way you described your Grandmother or Grandfather. What did you say of his generation? The one referred above in your book..Too American, like so many of his generation..Ya know Obama,Many think they were the Greatest Generation, yeah, they had to slosh around in the mud in other countries..That’s why you can run for the highest office in the land or we would now be ‘KAPUT’!

Shame on you Obama. You had a chance, you had a chance to renounce the racist preacher.

The left is saying what a great speech it was, that he has rescued his position with the Dems, maybe so, but that does not heal the wounds.I feel that it will take far more than a bandaid to bring people together now.

OBAMASSIAH AND JEREMIAH: PROPHETS OF DIVISION

Since it became public knowledge that Obama’s close advisor Jeremiah Wright is a race-baiting maniac who noisily denounces America in the most inflammatory terms conceivable, black support for Obama has actually risen in the key Keystone State:

Black voters back Sen. Obama 76 – 18 percent, compared to 69 – 23 percent Feb. 27.

By encouraging blacks to foster largely bogus grievances, liberals have created a Frankenstein monster. The O.J. verdict was only a vague hint of things to come. If Robert Mugabe came to America and ran on a platform of confiscating white people’s property as he’s done to such disastrous effect in Zimbabwe, he would get the votes of Obama’s base.

The underlying tensions that would cause black Americans to respond so favorably to this anti-American rhetoric is evidence in my opinion, of a deep rift which may explode under Obama’s leadership. This issue has most decidedly done nothing less than expose the polarization that exists beneath the surface. This fatal flaw is just waiting to be exploited by the Left seeking to manipulate weakness to consolidate and make gains in their own power.

  1. Oh my. The more I hear about this man, the more shocking the truth that unfolds. Stank like pigs? What the heck?
Angie, I fear for our America (though I’m not living there now).
Obama is riddled with hatred. Who knows what he is going to do to the race he so despises? God help Americans to prepare themselves to walk close to Him.

Yes, I think we are going to need a lot of help. Just when I think I can’t be shocked anymore, here comes another punch! God help our country.

  2. “STANK LIKE PIGS” really stood out to me too, that would be about the worst thing you could say about someone if you are muslim… so it is interesting that he chose those words. I am not saying he is still muslim or a “secret muslim” but it is an interesting choice of words…

Ya know, I don’t care what color people are, like many I am a right proper mix! In the case of Obamalamadingdong I care that HE CARES so very much about what color people are… it scares me. I think a whole heck a lot of white people were frightened into an awakening by the anger and I think a whole lot of black people realized the miles that could be lost if such divisiveness were spouted from the highest level of office.

My world is simple… if you could not interchange black & white or whitey for whatever… then it should simply not be said! (Or BTW any other negative racial “nick-name”)

I do NOT want someone that angry in office – or near it. Praying for Hillary.

Interesting point there Pink Myst about the pigs being offensive to Muslims. Very interesting choice of words..
I don’t care about anothers color, just the heart underneath color. I don’t think anyone in their right mind would want one in office so angry or with so many personal issues. I just don’t think we always get to know until it’s too late. Or we are not listening to ‘the little concerns’ and overlooking a bit too much.

  3. Oh my goodness! I so wish you could have more press at your blog! I just wish more could read the info you find! This blows me away! I am a democrat, but due to the craziness in democrat land-I have a feeling we will have another Republican president-IMO! I really thought we were due back in the office and ready for a change. I believe we are gonna get a change for sure-just don’t know if it will be for the good-IMO again!

Aw Mercedes, you are so sweet!:) I am continually blown away! I think it is gonna be like a box of chocolates, we just never know what we are gonna get! They are all crazy and making us crazy. Totally agree with ya about the change.Sometimes good, sometimes not.

    Hugs to ya

  4. It pains me to read these excerpts from the book. Is there really nothing positive in there? Honestly…

I have a tendency to regard people with highest regard, despite the sins of their associates. I mean… who is without sin? And let that one cast the stones.

I honestly have prayed that the Rev Wright has come to understand what it truly means to forgive. The senator could have easly cast the Rev out because, that is what politics does to folks. And I hope that his heart has been changed knowing that his statements have single-handedly brought a nearly invincible campaign to its knees. His guilt may be quite heavy. I believe that if the Rev Wright’s or anyone else’s heart has been changed for the better, then it is worth the damage to the Obama camp. Its is not the will of the Father that any should perish.

Welcome here, I totally agree with you. We should follow ‘our Father in Heaven’ and not a man. Yes, it would be wonderful for the Reverends heart to be new and changed. I question Obama judgement in leading this country with his many questionable associates and more and more is coming out. I feel for his grandmother. It had to hurt her. I am concerned with the direction of our country and honestly do not know who is best at this time.

You most certainly may. You may link or take anything you like. The important thing is the information.
    Welcome and come again.
