On Islamic jihad, everyone is guilty except Islam. Pathetic.

Found this to be very interesting, we have not had any commenters to be guilty of threats..:) On my about page, I have just asked for commenters to be respectful to others, I now feel I need a policy page,  Be assured that This blogger will be of the resistance as long as possible. I will strive as always to be courteous but in my passion for free speech, I am turning off my moderator if you have been approved once, you should always be approved. I did not know how to qualify that in the past and I have never poofed anyone and I do not want to have to. I also do not want you to have to wait for your comment to appear as in the past.

Be sure to look at the blogs in other countries that have been targeted. It is now here.  It seems we may eventually be  losing the right to jest on blogs then it will be another step and on and on it goes.

We are losing our rights little by little. Cair seems to be doing a great job. We need to wake up America..you better be complaining about some of the things going on while we slumber.

Write, call your legislators, let them know how you feel about free speech, homeschooling and yes, even cussing in bars. When they said restaurant owners did not have the right to serve smokers whether they wanted to provide a place for them or not, the door was opened.

How long do we play nice and feel everyone is like us and that could surely not happen here? How long do our children have to go to schools that are dangerous and teach them things that have no bearing on their readiness for this world in education and skills? How long will we tolerate the dumbing down of America? How long do we keep silent and let them tear down our values to our children? How long before we speak out against our children being reprimanded for wearing a Jesus shirt to school? How long do we hold our tongue while our child has been suspended from school for choosing Jesus as their choice for the greatest person who ever lived for their theme or essay?

Speak out now to those in power while you have the right to do so! You can bet your mama Cair is not going to allow their children that discrimination? How long do we put up with Judeo/Christian discrimination? Yes I said discrimination for the Jewish people. Who is speaking for them? Anti-Semitism is on the rise and You are called a bigot, a hater, intolerant and uneducated for speaking out against terroism against the Jewish state. How dare they defend themselves? Special favors are given to Islam at Target and now Walmart in Dearborn Mi. I will have a post on that very soon.

How long before they come for our weapons so we have no way to defend ourselves? With crime as it is today (for every 100 people, one is in prison) it is not a very good time to be left at a criminals mercy. If you want to know what that is like visit MK’s Views – Down under on the right side and Midnight Sun on my blogroll. They can tell you some stories of what has happened in Australia since they lost their right to bear arms.

Now understand this: I am not in favor of anyone, anyone being discriminated against and that includes Moslems. I think this country has bent itself over backward to accomadate them. However this is going way beyond discrimination. ACLU does not protect you if you are a christian or a jew IMO. You may have a different opinion.

While you are at it, look at this: Is this not lovely? How many of you are willing to reveal yourselves? Talk about loss of freedom?

Kentucky Lawmaker Wants to Make Anonymous Internet Posting Illegal

Kentucky Representative Tim Couch filed a bill this week to make anonymous posting online illegal.

The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site.

Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted.

If the bill becomes law, the website operator would have to pay if someone was allowed to post anonymously on their site. The fine would be five-hundred dollars for a first offense and one-thousand dollars for each offense after that.

The truth of the matter is just this: We got crazies  (dictator wantabees) running around on a power trip!

The FBI, hatchet boys for CAIR, are coming after the blogs. SICK! The Baron has this jawdropper concerning this story ran here: ST. LOUIS: “LITTLE BOSNIA”.
Unless you guys want to foot my legal bills, watch what you write. Apparently in the nanny state, blog owners are responsible for readers comments. What next? Responsible for your thoughts too?In the war on Islamic jihad, everyone is guilty except Islam. Pathetic.

Making the Case for Temperate Speech

from and written by Gates of Vienna (hat tip Jane)

I’ve taken a lot of flak for enforcing this rule, and have endured my share of reproach and ridicule for my namby-pamby sissified cowardly fear of frank and unrestrained argument. I’ve been accused of succumbing to the dictates of political correctness, and have even allegedly driven one blogger out of blogging through his disgust at my disgraceful example.

But there is a prudent and practical reason for my policy, as demonstrated today by the actions of the federal government towards two prominent blogs, Gateway Pundit and Little Green Footballs.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Mosque threatened, Muslim group says

A national Muslim civil rights organization has asked the FBI to investigate what it considers threats made on the Internet against a Bosnian mosque in St. Louis.

One blog post cited by the group made reference to vandalism and another to the use of dynamite.

Zachary Lowe, a special agent in the St. Louis office of the FBI, said Tuesday that while he could not confirm an investigation, the bureau “takes all threats against people very seriously, especially religious and ethnic groups.”

– – – – – – – –

The comments were made on at least two blogs and related to a posting about a minaret being built at the mosque. The mosque is the Islamic Community Center, or Madina Masjid, at 4666 Lansdowne Avenue. A minaret is a tower from which the Muslim call to prayer is traditionally sounded.

The author of a blog called “Gateway Pundit: Observations of the World from the heart of Jesusland,” posted three photos of the minaret covered with scaffolding. One of the photos included the caption: “Those calls to prayers ought to go over really well with the people of this South St. Louis neighborhood.”

The “Gateway Pundit” author also cited another blog, Republican Riot, saying the Muslim call to prayer “is to be broadcast several times a day.”

But Madina Masjid’s spiritual leader, Imam Muhamed Hasic, said the minaret is symbolic, not practical. There is no sound system or speakers on the minaret, which is scheduled to be completed next week. He said the minaret will not be used to call Muslims to prayer.

Another blog, called “Little Green Footballs,” linked to the “Gateway Pundit” post, and several comments on “Little Green Footballs,” caused the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations to contact the FBI, said Ibrahim Hooper, the council’s spokesman.

“We ourselves get these kinds of hate messages and threats frequently,” Hooper said. “But you never know who’s just talking and who’s going to carry out some these threats, so you have to check them out.”

On the “Gateway Pundit,” a blogger who identified herself as Kathi, wrote: “It is really hard on us white, non-muslims to have to live with these folks taking over our neighborhood and community. Our government helping these people relocate into America’s heartland is like inviting the enemy into your camp. It’s totally disgusting.”

On “Little Green Footballs,” blogger Amer1can wrote, “Would be a shame if it were to be vandalized or destroyed. Just a shame I tell you….wink wink STL youth.”

Blogger Arthur E. Hippler added: “I suppose dynamite would be considered an extreme response.”

The original post was by Julia Gorin at Republican Riot. Jim at Gateway Pundit picked it up yesterday, and then followed it up with a post today after the Post-Dispatch story hit the streets.

St. Louis minaretOne of the photos of the St. Louis minaret mentioned in the article is shown at right, and Jim’s dangerous, hateful, Islamophobic caption reads: Amazing! (GP Photo) Those calls to prayers ought to go over really well with the people of this South St. Louis neighborhood.

Alert readers will notice that all of the “threats” cited by the article were made by commenters on the blogs, not by the blogs’ owners and authors.

The FBI and the MSM evidently make no distinction between a blogger and a commenter. They’re really not familiar with our milieu — so a commenter is a blogger and a blogger is a commenter; what’s the difference?

However… when the excrement impacts the circulation device, it won’t be the commenters who are targeted for their incitement; it will be the blog owners.

They’re the ones who will be hauled down to the local FBI office, put into a hot little room under a set of bright lights, and talked to for six or eight hours.

It’s the blog owners’ blogs that will get shut down.

It’s the blog owners who will have to retain legal counsel — and drop a couple of large in the process.

It’s the blog owners who will have to pay the fines and do the time.

And maybe — just maybe — after the feds finish getting their jollies with the blog owners, they’ll go after a few commenters while they’re at it. Just a little dessert after the main course, you know.

Americans think it can only happen in Finland (Tomashot), Britain (Lionheart), Sweden (Dahn Pettersson and Lennart Eriksson), Canada (Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn), Belgium (Paul Belien) , and other similar benighted backwaters.

But it can happen here, too.

The First Amendment is under continuous assault by the forces of Political Correctness, and it’s going to get worse once Hillary Rodham or Barack Hussein gets elected and starts pulling away at the levers of power.

So why not practice for the days of samizdat that are surely coming our way? What’s wrong with a little judicious indirection?

If the time should come when we are required to dissolve the political bands which have connected us with the existing system, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind will require us to state our case clearly.

When that happens, when the powers that be remain deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity, we may, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity for plain speech and forthright action.

But until then I’d like to keep this blog going. I want this forum to remain open.

I don’t want to spend my sunset years talking to polite and well-dressed federal agents in stuffy little rooms.

I don’t want to be driven into bankruptcy by legal expenses.

And, yes, I may well end up standing at the corner of Emmet and Hydraulic, beckoning to passing cars with a sign that reads, “WILL BLOG FOR FOOD”.

  1. Great post, Angie and thanks for the link. I’m linking back to you on the blogs thing. Unbelievable!

  2. […] Hat tip: This and That (Angie’s blog) […]

  3. Woohoo, wordpress is good that way, you can ‘trust’ commenters unlike other commenting tools.

  4. You know, I think this IS a violation of free speech. People often speak more truthfully when they are annonymous. On the other hand, sometimes it makes people speak out of their wazoos. Making people put a name and address will not change things. Like a name and address can’t be made up. “Big brother” should stick to looking at terrorist sites, IMO. A threat on a person’s life should be take seriously, but on a blog? I dunno…I know most of my readers don’t know where I live, etc. What good would a threat be? This blog “red tape” is silly.

It’s a huge violation of free speech. I agree. However there are ways that a blogger or anyone on the net can be identified. May take a little longer but if they want to know ‘what you said’, ‘when you said’, it can be done by those with the right tools, in this case Big Brother, and a whole lot more ‘brain power’ than me. With that said, I agree they should stick to looking at terroist sites. We need to fight for our rights and carry on. It makes me crazy that our men and women are fighting at this very moment for those rights and with things like this, well, let’s just say it makes me more than a little upset with the powers that be.

  5. the crazy thing is that the government could at any time figure out what computer and what house typed which message… well… at least for most of us.. I suppose a few folks have invested in tools to keep their ip address private… but still… there seems to be trail – just takes longer.

That’s right Myst, there is really no way to hide from Nanny.

  6. A friend, who lives about three hours from me in a rural area, has a 21 year-old son who lives w/ her and was recently on MySpace threatening to tell a man’s wife about him trying to “pick up girls”. The son figured out where the man and his family lived then began making threats and extorting money. The man involved the cops, who in turn involved the F.B.I.

I’ve known the mother since before she had kids and she is a straight-laced, honest-to-goodness shy person. Imagine her angst when the F.B.I. showed up with a search warrant, seized the computer, and found road signs in the other son’s possession! Both boys in one lick.

I don’t know what they’re going to do with the 16 yr-old (he won’t go to school, underage drinking, etc.) but the older one is in a “heap-a-trouble”. Terroristic threats, extortion, and I don’t remember what else.

They called me for help with an attorney but, as much trouble as that boy has given her, I told her she needs to let him sweat this one out on his own.

That’s the kind of nonsense that jeopardizes the rest of us, the F.B.I. indeed found his house, and why was that idiot (the husband) putting so much family info out there?

As I learned, we can blacklist people from our wordpress blogs. It prevents them from commenting and pinging. I’ve only done it once but I never had a doubt or hesitation. I don’t give any, and I don’t take any! (MK, that’s for you, honey. I saw the crazies!! I would have just told them that you don’t have to stick your head in a bear’s mouth to find out whether he bites—it’s documented! Then again, they’re like Mick Jagger—can’t get no satisfaction. Isn’t it the pol in the Netherlands who has the video coming out this month?)

Anyway, I take this as an excuse leading up to more gov’t control. And there will be plenty who will fall in line b/c of the ones who lack SELF-control. Brace yourselves!

    Great post, as usual, Angie.

    Love & Hugs!

Wow, what a story. Poor Mother. Don’t ya just love those MK remarks? Love your bear’s mouth remark too!:)
I too feel it is all about gov’t control. What do you think about North American Joint armies and the Hush Hush meeting? They are moving fast are they not?

Love and hugs right back at ya!

  7. Hey Ange,
It does seem that the cards are stacked against us – but screw em. We’re here to say what we think and believe. So far, there still is free speech in this country and it’s not just afforded to illegal aliens and hate groups. The whole thing is bass ackward – we are losing rights, while those who shouldn’t have any rights where our country is concerned are getting boatloads of them. Bizarre.

I don’t know about Barack or Hillary making it to the Oval Office though. With what’s on the current airwaves, looks like Barack may have some troubles of his own. Could be a real lucky day for Shrillery.

The airwaves need to be sounding off. Obama does not refute or apologize for his minister’s racism or his hateful speech. Talk about speaking on both sides of your mouth. If you are gonna play, ya need to play fair.. in what’s good for the goose is good for the gander… You bet your bippy we are losing rights while others are getting them right and left.. Yes it is more than bizarre.

  8. Whew! WOW! OMG! I am using my real name: Mercedes Rules and my real email: mercedes.rules@hotmail.com…ROFL!

p.s. I believe our world will self-destruct in T minus 10-9-8-7-…What happened to the good ‘ol days? I sure do miss them!

Yeah, me too, LOL! Course I be too slow in the tech department to figure out simple things, but with the right tools, who knows? Again,me too! 🙂
